Gilbert White Study Day for the WEA

Gilbert White Study Day for the WEA – Monday 15th April 2013

We are very excited to be able to work with the WEA in offering a study day based on the Selborne naturalist, Gilbert White. The day will take place at the Gilbert White House and Gardens, where WEA members will be given exclusive access to the museum and its collections. The cost of the day is £45 and will include:

10.00   Coffee and shortbread on arrival
10.30   A talk on the life and works of Gilbert White
11.15     Time to explore the museum, with volunteers on hand to show specific items from the collection and give more information
12.15     Lunch
1.00      A talk on the development of the gardens by our head gardener,    David Standing. David has used the works and writings of             Gilbert White to restore the gardens to how they would have been when Gilbert lived at The Wakes.
1.45      Time to explore the gardens, again with volunteers on hand to answer any questions and give more information.
2.45      Tea and cakes.

Please book directly with the museum for this event. Either, print and fill out the booking form, WEA booking form, and return it to the museum with payment; or phone the museum on 01420 511275 to book and pay with a credit or debit card.
