‘From Chalk Face to Chalk Downland: developing wellbeing through your school grounds, local park and beyond’.

Wednesday 18th November 4.30pm

‘From Chalk Face to Chalk Downland: developing wellbeing through your school grounds, local park and beyond’.

A free event for KS1 and 2 teachers with Fiona Oakley, Learning Programmes Manager at the Gilbert White Field Studies Centre.

Using the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Learn and Give, this online session equips you with simple ideas to help your pupils connect emotionally with nature, whilst giving you the confidence to deliver them. No nature knowledge is required, just a willingness to look, listen and absorb the natural world and inspire your pupils to do the same. Often nature is presented to children as fragile and endangered- the focus of this session will be on enjoying and delighting in the beauty and variety of nature within your school grounds or local park and in the wider landscape of the South Downs.

The session aims to:

· Build confidence for you to use outdoor space with your pupils – especially for those who may not feel they are ‘outdoors’ types.

· Provide a range of accessible activities to help your pupils’ emotional wellbeing.

To join simply book a free ticket below and a zoom link will be sent to you before the session.
