Children’s Art Week

Children’s Art Week

Monday 29th June-Friday 3rd July

How closely have you been looking at the natural world around you over the weeks of lockdown? Many of us have seen things we have never noticed before – the fascinating lives of creatures all around us. Gilbert White called this ‘watching narrowly’. He was a naturalist and the story of his life and work is told at our museum at the house where he lived in Selborne, Hampshire.
2020 is Gilbert Whites 300th birthday and Children’s Art Week is one of the ways we are celebrating.
Starting on Monday 29th June, we have a different art activity planned for each day of the week to encourage you to keep ‘Watching Narrowly’ and to #bemoreGilbert!
Our simple, fun art projects use everyday resources to create art inspired by birds, bees, butterflies, flowers and trees and are fun for all ages from tots to teens.
Join Selborne artist Michelle Puddy as she demonstrates each activity, then download extra resources to help you make the most of your next exploration of green spaces whether it is countryside, garden or park.
We would love to see your finished creations, send us pictures via facebook and we will share our favourites.
