Conference & Meeting Facilities

Gilbert White’s House & Garden and The Oates Collection is delighted to be able to offer two rooms within the 18th century house, once the home of Rev. Gilbert White (1720-1793), for corporate or private events.  Set in the heart of the pretty village of Selborne, we offer a unique and charming setting for conferences, meetings, presentations and training sessions. We are only 5 miles from Alton, an hour from Waterloo by train, and ideally located between the A3 and A31.

The Gilbert White Room can comfortably seat approx. 16 delegates boardroom or theatre-style, and affords beautiful views of the village.

The Gilbert White Field Studies Centre

“Delegates at our tourism conference last month were delighted with the Gilbert White Field Studies Centre. It made an ideal venue, helping to ensure an inspiring event, since it is not a featureless event space but a beautifully restored barn.

Organisation for the event was superb, and staff could not have been more helpful in making sure everything ran smoothly. Catering from the Gilbert White tea parlour was of a very high standard. The space has been well designed, so would be suitable for a variety of events – it certainly makes an excellent conference venue.”
