Gilbert White's House & The Oates Museum - Friends
FRIENDS
If you would like to support the Museum and get involved in its activities you can become a 'Friend'. The association was reconstituted in 1995 and has built up its membership to over 250 people, both locally and nationally. International Friends are also welcome and a special effort is made to keep them informed of our activities.
Members receive three Newsletters during the year with news of developments at the Museum as well as learned articles on a wide range of topics relating to Gilbert White and to the Oates Museum. Previews of new exhibitions and museum artefacts will be arranged for Friends.
Friends are encouraged to help at events during the year, such as at the Unusual Plants Fair, Gilbert White Day and the annual Mulled Wine Day.
Each year The Friends make a gift to the museum; recent ones have included a Kissing Gate, garden equipment and help with eighteenth century costumes for the Gilbert White Day. Recently the friends have provided funds for a new PA system. A proportion of all subscriptions also goes directly to the Museum to help with its work.
Membership fees are currently £12 for Single Membership and £18 for family Membership. To join please download and complete the membership form below and post it to the Museum.
