Costumed Housekeeper / Manservant (Part-Time / Suitable for Job-Share)
Reporting to: General Manager
Salary: Rate of pay £7.00 per hour.  Days / hours by negotiation – but would necessitate some weekend working.  Period costume provided.
Responsible for: Presenting Gilbert White’s House and the rest of the Museum as an attractive home to be enjoyed by our many visitors.  This will entail daily cleaning of the Museum using, as far as is practical, traditional methods and equipment.  This opportunity would suit someone with an outgoing personality who would enjoy, as part of the role, engaging with our visitors, whilst dressed in period costume and undertaking necessary tasks.  Training will be provided in traditional housekeeping and conservation cleaning.  It is envisaged that you would have a passion for sharing an interest in these with our visitors, whilst taking pride in ensuring the House is always beautifully presented and lovingly cared for.

Gilbert White’s House & Garden and The Oates Collection is an Independent Charitable Trust and Accredited Museum set in idyllic surroundings.  We have a number of period room sets in addition to more modern exhibition rooms, together with the usual facilities associated with a busy heritage attraction.
