House, Gardens & Cafe Open Monday - Sunday

The visit itself was truly 5-star. The whole house and exhibition was in sparkling good order: all the staff were ultra-courteous and helpful, while the loos and cafe were also excellent – the cafe particularly so.
The setting is lovely, with the grounds meticulously kept, rising to the dark green of the Selborne Hangers (woodlands) clothing the downs to the south of the site.
I recently read an Australian political tirade about the current chaos over Brexit, which asked “Whatever happened to England’s green and pleasant land?” Well, it’s there is Selborne – its beauty really did bring tears to my eyes as I thought how lucky we are to live in so beautiful a country, and how responsible we need to be to keep it that way for our successors.
