At the FIELD STUDIES CENTRE
Free Admission but spaces must be reserved. 

Join us for a morning, afternoon or full day at our Wellbeing Day. Enjoy the beautiful grounds at Gilbert White’s and a gardening session or inside our beautiful 16th century Hampshire barn with creative activities and gentle yoga.

Yoga & Mindfulness taught by Laura from Casting Light Yoga:

” I am an actress, mindfulness therapist, yoga teacher and co-founder of an accredited yoga and mindfulness based programme for children called ‘The Yo-Chi Programme’ which is now a national programme in schools. From a young age I have practiced yoga and meditation and had a fascination with the mind/body connection and as a young adult often found myself looking for ways I could explore my own personal and spiritual development.

So, what does it mean to be Mindful?
To be mindful means to be pay attention to the present moment in a natural, gentle, compassionate and curious way. This could be something internally like our thoughts, our body or our emotions or something external.

Mindfulness allows us to pay attention to, and see clearly what is happening in our lives. Whilst it cannot eliminate life’s challenges, the practice helps us to work with the present moment rather than dwell on the past or over worry about the future. The Yoga sessions I will be running on this day will be for all abilities and will be a very gentle practice, so if you haven’t tried Yoga please come along and give it a go.

When entering the village from the A31:

Enter Selborne and continue along the road past the museum. When you see the Selborne Arms take the first turn on the right immediately after the Selborne Arms. You will see a car park on your right, go to the back of this section into the rear section of car park labelled overflow. Straight on to the back of this is The Barn signposted Field Studies Centre.

When entering the village from Petersfield direction:

Enter Selborne and continue along the road. When you see the Selborne Arms take the turn immediately before the pub on the left. You will see a car park on your right, go to the back of this section into the rear section of car park labelled overflow. Straight on to the back of this is The Barn signposted Field Studies Centre.
