2019: A Recap

2019 Recap!

2019 was supposed to be a restful year between the craziness of opening our new galleries in 2018 and the craziness of Gilbert White’s tercentenary in 2020… how wrong we were.

January: Hampshire Scout Joe, made his way from  Selborne in November to the South Pole in January!

February: A great month for Antarctic activities with our temporary exhibition, two talks, half term events, plus some snow for good measure!

March: SpringWatch were here to film for the RSPB’s back from the brink project to save the field cricket!

April: The Friends set out to walk from Selborne to Ringmer to raise money for the museum.

May: Our very successful Edward Lear Exhibition opened.

June: We marked the 250th anniversary of the 1769 Transit of Venus.

July: We launched our GW300 celebrations at the Natural History Museum.

August: We announced that Khalid Aziz had been appointed chair of Trustees.

September: Our Art Exhibition Pond: Mere, Rune, Flint opened.

October: We welcomed our GW300 partners to Selborne.

November: Our inaugural Eco Fair!

December: We celebrated Christmas with our visitors at Mulled Wine Weekend, with our volunteers and at our staff lunch!
